The Indian government is tackling the lack of accurate and timely data by bringing in the big guns – Pulak Ghosh, Partner, ProRelevant Marketing Solutions, has been appointed to a high-level task force to help improve the accuracy and timeliness of the data used in the country’s statistical infrastructure related to employment. “The task force will recommend solutions which can be implemented in a time bound manner,” a statement issued by the National Institute for Transforming India Aayog (NITI Aayog – an agency of the Government of India that supports economic policy-making). The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has directed that this effort be expedited so that upcoming policies on employment can be developed with a deeper understanding of their impact based on credible data.

Pulak Ghosh is a partner with ProRelevant Marketing Solutions and a Professor in the Decision Sciences and Information Systems Area at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) specializing in Quantitative Marketing, Big Data, Data Analytics, Bayesian Nonparametric, Health Analytics, and Econometrics.
